Range Report
Location: Stickledown Range Bisley
Distance: 1000 yards
Weather: Sunny
Temperature: 17°c
Wind: 5-15 mph switching from over the shoulder to full value left to right.
This trip saw 6 RSC club members , Alan, David, Kieron , Mark , Lee and Nick head down to Bisley to shoot on the electronic targets on Stickledown 1000 yard firing point, this was Lee's first time at Bisley but he has shot at 1000yds previously.
With a few different calibres present including 6.5mm Creedmoor ,308 Winchester and the mighty 284 Winchester cartridges ,all shooters had plenty of hits and everyone had at least a V bull, the wind was proving to play the biggest part of the challenge with it switching approximately 145 degrees throughout the afternoon, but the sun stayed out and did create some mirage down range. The sun brought out the ice-cream van which was a welcome break!
All in all a cracking day was had.
If you would like to join us on one of our long range shooting trips and have an SSC, (Shooter Certification Card) and a capable firearm, ammunition and data or would like more information about the trips or certification then get in touch with the club secretary.
